Ready, Set, Read!
Reading is the key to success in all subject areas. Now is the time to find that library card and visit your local library. Make reading a daily habit by turning off the television and picking up a book. You can read with a friend, to your dolls, read books online.......Read...Read...Read! Students will be given AR goals each trimester. They will be required to take an AR test after the completion of each book. Students who meet their goal will earn an AR party. It's important to read a variety of books and genres. You can take many adventures in fictional and expository text. It's fun and it will open your mind to a whole new world! |
Multiplication
Calling all math wizards! We are fourth graders and multiplication should be mastered. Within seconds you should be able to give me the answer to any math fact. We will spend some time on multiplication in class, but most of the work will be done at home. We will review and be quizzed on our math facts to 12.

Public Library
A fantastic weekly family outing can be to your local library. Stating in June my daughters and I will be visiting Sorenson Library on a weekly bases. They will sign up for the summer reading program there and earn prizes as they complete their reading logs. A fun treat after visiting the library is to play on the playground for about 20 minutes.
The library also have many activities taking place. For example, arts and crafts, story time, and lots of other activities. Please look for a link on my home page to some local libraries in our area to get you started. |
Scholastic Reading Challenge
I have signed up our class for the Scholastic Reading Challenge. Enclosed in the summer activity packet that went home with your child's report card was a list with your child's username and password. Your child can log in their daily reading onto the challenge page. Each student made a summer reading goal on the last day of school. The books they read from the library can be written down twice, once for the reading challenge and another time for the prizes at their local library. Happy Reading!!!
